An important agreement between the SNP and the Greens secures majority for a new independence referendum in the Scottish Parliament

Dear friend,

In case you miss the big news from Scotland, an important agreement has been reached in the Scottish Parliament. Following the cooperation agreement between the Scottish National Party and the Scottish Greens:

1) Green representatives have entered government for the first time in Scottish and UK history, an important milestone ahead of the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference which will be held in Glasgow from the 1st to the 12th of November.

2) An absolute majority in the Scottish Parliament is in favour of a new independence referendum to be held before the end of 2023.

3) An absolute majority in the Scottish Parliament reaffirmed the intention to rejoin the EU as an independent country.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has also announced that work to put forward a detailed prospect for independence and a referendum has resumed, after being paused when COVID struck.

She used her party conference speech to warn that Boris Johnson’s government will use Brexit and the damage it inflicted on Scotland as well as the rest of the UK to argue against independence. We think she is right.

In the next weeks and months our campaign will work tirelessly to unveil the utter hypocrisy of Boris Johnson’s government to citizens all over Europe.

Very best and viva Scotland in Europe
