On Wednesday 15/2/2023 the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon announced her resignation, more than 8 years since she first took office.
Among the many articles on the legacy of Nicola Sturgeon as First Minister of Scotland, we would like to share this from the Scottish writer Val McDermid, who wrote it for the Sunday Times edition of 19/02/2023. Val, a strong supporter of our campaign and author of our video for the first anniversary of Brexit, is a long-standing friend of Nicola Sturgeon.
Has been a great FM and party leader for Scotland and I am so proud to be Scottish and have had a leader like her ,she s maybe wee but is head and shoulders above anyone I can think of and I’ve been around since 1937.She deserves the greatest respect from us , so sorry to see her go but she Knows what Shes doing , God bless her.
It has been Nicola Sturgeon who has brought “Scottish Independence” to the public attention in Germany. A democratic vision corresponding with a sensitive commitment – a rare species in European politics. Thank you!
